Storyline

A TV adaptation of the classic story of the same name dating back from the early Qing Dynasty (18th century):

A magic stone is created by the goddess, Nuwa, and left in the Qinggang peak of Wuji Mountain. With the help of a Taoist priest and a Buddhist monk the stone turns into a handsome man, Jia Baoyu. Jia Baoyu grows up in a wealthy aristocratic family and is spoiled by his family. He becomes close with his cousin, Daiyu who and the two eventually fall in love. Unfortunately, Baoyu is forced to marry Xue Baochai, his other cousin. Daiyu dies of heartbreak when her love marries someone else and a whole series of tragic events follow which leave the Jia family scattered and broken.
