Storyline

In the Wuhan in the 1990’s, a husband from a normal family, Ma Xuewu, works as the head of a state owned enterprise and with his wife, Li Baoli, they have a son, Xiao Bao. One day, the company offers the family a new house as an extra welfare bonus. However, after moving to the new house, a series of unexpected events start happening: Ma wants a divorce, Li discovers that Ma is having an affair and Ma’s mother has been evicted and wants to live with them in their new house. Everything is too much for Ma, so he plans to commit suicide. Li’s friend suggests that the misfortune is caused by bad Fengshui in the new house, but nobody believes her.
