Storyline

A community of people living in an old hutong, which is scheduled for demolition. Grandma He is living with her family in the tight confinements of their house. Despite the conditions, they live a happy, harmonious life in the hutong. The oldest father of the family had a dispuit with his boss and is unemployed and his wife passed away years ago. His brother is married and expecting a baby. Even though the hutong is scheduled for destruction and renovation, neither the government nor the real estate developer sees any profit in refurbishing this hutong, so the houses are left to decay for now.
